Center Adopts New Name

In September 2014 we adopted a new name.  We took on a new name that more closely reflected the interests and expertise of the faculty and staff here and we re-launched Center for Data, Media and Society.  Our research program on journalism, telecommunications policy, and communication trends continues.  But this new name represents our additional expertise in technology policy, drones, big data, and the internet of things.  

As part of the relaunch our website will now resolve to http://cmds.ceu.hu.  It is still packed with the reports and data sets we have developed for original research on media law and policy in Hungary and the region. It also identifies the projects we are working on now, including the Ranking Digital Rights project, and our EU-funded projects on strengthening journalism and online political extremism.  

Content produced by the center as the Center for Media and Communication Studies is still here.  As part of moving into the School of Public Policy we transferred the last four years of content to our new domain name.  In the next few months we will endeavor to bring in more of the material from past years.
